Autumn holidays – the horror of the year
You always think when things already passed by, that they passed by to fast.
When you still is in the beginning of something it feels as if you have all the time in the world. For the Dahlberg family the autumn holidays have in all parts been enormously eventful. We packed our suitcases and took of to Latvia for a few days.
The eastern state culture is, lets say, very alike and at the same time even more unalike our own Nordic culture. Interesting though, is to discover that when you have an errand to someone or reversed, the ice between our different cultures is sooner than later actually broken. That which made our relations feels as we where strangers to each other and as if we had a high barrier between us, very fast turns into invisibility. When I am saying this I am not talking about the receptionists with the mission to be polite and correct, but the people that you meet in all kind of possible and less possible situations.
When I need someone’s help, they actually are willingly to give it… after a moment. It is as if they first need to ensure them self about me not having any hidden agenda or knife behind my back.
A lot was, during all circumstances, taking place on this “sun trip” to Latvia. It would be wrong to reveal to much at present – because the trip was a gift to Åsa when she had her 40th birthday, so it is actually through her eyes we first of all needs to see what really took place during those six intensive days (and nights).
When we thought that there in no way could possibly become more dramatic than it already had been, God came with an even greater test of our hearts on our way home. I guess we can reveal that much anyway, that Bengt had far-reaching thoughts about how he should handle the situation incase the ship on the way home should sink to the bottom… The rest and what really did happened... well, you will have to read about that in Åsas column.
Do not miss her enormously exiting, full of faith and inspiring report about what the trip to Jurmala, Latvia, should hide behind its mask.
We will of course return with more exiting stories further more. ;) In about two weeks – the 17th to 20th of November e.g. Bengt will travel to Helsinki. More about this travel will be possible to read about on Bengts column the 21st of November. We hope that all of our friends on the other side of the Baltic Sea will be able to come and take part in our meetings then.
We who will go there from our family is Bengt and our son Salomon. The two of us really looks forward to meet as many as possible of you then! Until next time – Gods blessings to everyone!
